Opening it

Press P while mounted to open a full profile of the horse you’re riding.

The same key pressed while on foot whistles your active horse instead. The screen only opens from the saddle.

What it shows

Field Meaning
Gender Male or female. Determines what it can breed with.
Breed One of the fifteen breeds, or a species label for donkeys, mules, and skeleton or zombie horses. Cross-bred horses get a (mix) tag.
Coat Base colour plus markings, e.g. Chestnut + White Field.
Bond Current value out of 100, with a fill bar.
Speed Blocks per second.
Jump Block height it can clear.
Health Hit points.

Reading the bars

Each stat bar fills toward the mod’s ceiling, not the horse’s own maximum:

Stat Full bar at
Speed 25.5 blk/s
Jump 9.5 blocks
Health 30 HP

A short bar means there’s room to grow. Some of that gap closes through bonding, worth up to +75% speed and jump at 100 bond, and the rest through breeding for better stock.

The quick stats overlay

You don’t have to mount a horse to size it up. Hold an Upgraded Saddle and look at any horse, wild or tamed, and a Horse Stats panel appears above your hotbar:

  • Gender
  • Breed
  • Speed in blocks/second
  • Jump height in blocks

This is the fastest way to check a wild herd before deciding which one to tame, and it works on horses you don’t own.

Scanning a herd with the saddle in hand costs nothing and saves a lot of wasted taming. Look for the breed you want and a high starting speed, because bonding multiplies what’s already there.
